KCCI to set up liaison panels in all districts

03 November, 2007

Penampang: The Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is forming District Liaison Committees (DLCs) to cater to the needs of its members in other districts of Sabah, Labuan as well as in Peninsular Malaysia.

KCCI social and community bureau chairman, Carl Moosom said the chamber's first DLC was launched by President Frederick Lojingki in Labuan two weeks ago, to be followed in other areas, namely, Kudat, Sandakan, Tawau, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur.
Functioning as branches of the chamber the DLCs would benefit members in the respective areas where they can deal with official chamber matters without having to go to the headquarters in Donggongon here, he said.

"More details will be given by our president during the installation night on Nov 10," Moosom said at a press conference Friday.
He said the installation of the KCCI office bearers for the 2007/2010 term at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort would be officiated at by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok.

During the event, members would also be informed about the KCCI's intention to buy a property for their own headquarters.
Moosom who is the installation night-cum-dinner organising chairman said.

KCCI would also be re-launching its website www.kcci.com.my that was previously disrupted due to hosting problems. The website, he said, would eventually serve as a portal for its 700 members throughout the country not only to obtain information but also do business networking as well as perform e-banking transactions.

Meanwhile, KCCI committee for the new term led by Lojingki who succeeded Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh as president comprises four new faces. They are deputy president Ali Masri Matajam, Datuk Lawrence Sinsua, William Thomas Kokou and Moosom himself.

The rest are William Michael Mojilip (secretary general), Ladislaus Maluda (treasurer general), Datuk Amisah Yassin, Pius Jaua, Freddy Ekol, Bonipasius Bianis, Edmond Lo, Gedi Baching, Marsillius Tiwol and Slyvia Atam Olas as the executive secretary.

The theme for the installation night is "Network Increases Your Networth" (Misokodung Popobuu Pongidopuan) and is expected to be attended by leading Kadazandusun business personalities. Those needing more information can contact Sylvia at 088-726306/725306.
